In 1943, founder Suresh Chandra Addya incorporated S.C.ADDYA & CO. Pvt. Ltd. in Calcutta, India. The humble beginnings saw this business grow from its infancy at a small shop trading in handmade and imported fish hooks, lines, ropes, nets and twines. to a robust and reputed wholesaler and retailer of commercial & sport fishing equipment in Eastern India.

In 1983, S.C.ADDYA ENGG CO. Pvt. Ltd, Bombay was formed to manufacture high-carbon steel fish hooks in fully automated Japanese machines for chemically sharpened needle pointed hooks. Achieved ISO 9001: 2000 certification from BVQI, UK for quality manufacturing systems in 2003.

Today ADDYA’s fish hooks are found in international markets of the US, Middle East, Peru, Africa and South Asian countries through its overseas company marketing wing, RELIABLE EXPORT HOUSE, Calcutta, India
